Cityscape comes to a successful close
With over 7000 professionals and investors from around the world participating in Cityscape Qatar 2013, the three-day event closed on a successful note.
About 100 local and international exhibitors promoted their products and services dealing in different areas of the real estate sector.
Speaking with The Edge, Adele Laker, senior marketing manager of IIR Middle East, said, “Cityscape, as the only real estate event in Qatar, is a platform for governmental authorities, key investors and developers, consultants, architects, contractors and designers to drive progress in Qatar’s real estate market.”
Thushara Athukarala flew down from California to represent his company Tru Enterprises LLC, while CEO Clara Yeung was here from China to represent her property investment search company Arising Land. The purpose of Athukarala and Yeung’s visit was to explore the investment opportunities in Qatar’s growing real estate market.
The event was accompanied by Cityscape Awards ceremony to recognise outstanding individuals and companies who are leaders in delivering exceptional real estate developments in Qatar.
Apart from the realtors operating in the region, companies like First Arabian Real Estate Kuwait participated to market their properties in Doha.
Stands of companies like Arqui 300 and Qatar Diar’s sister company QDRJ stood apart because of the nature of their business, dealing in a niche market. While Arqui 300 provides digital solutions to real estate companies by creating 3D images and videos, QDRJ specialises in the property models.
In the absence of a finished real estate development, and due to the difficulties of showcasing the completed projects, real estate models serve as one of the most prominent marketing tools. It was indeed much because of their elaborate models that the stands of the Mall of Qatar and Urban Development Company stole the limelight of the three-day event.
The second edition of the event was also accompanied by the Cityscape Awards ceremony to recognise outstanding individuals and companies who are leaders in delivering exceptional real estate developments in the fast developing Qatari market. Winners this year included Barwa Real Estate Group, United Development Company and Hamad Medical Corporation.
Commenting on the awards ceremony, Deep Marwaha, group director of Informa Exhibitions, said, ”The Cityscape Awards were created to incentivise the industry in their continued pursuit of excellence, the ceremony highlighting and rewarding outstanding projects in Qatar’s real estate industry.”
