Cityscape’s Qatar Real Estate Summit: Rising to the Challenge

The Qatar Real Estate Summit is set to be held alongside Cityscape Qatar 2013 from 27 to 29 May at the Doha Exhibition Centre.

Under the Patronage of HE, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, the Qatar Real Estate Summit will carve out strategies for capitalizing on the wealth of opportunities available in Qatar; a prime destination for international companies wishing to participate in its ambitious development prospects. The Summit, held alongside Cityscape Qatar 2013 from 27 to 29 May at the Doha Exhibition Centre, is expected to draw in international speakers and market experts focusing on key market trends, offering valuable insight and in-depth analysis of today’s critical real estate challenges. 

According to World Bank statistics, Qatar is the world’s wealthiest country per capita and with the country’s non-hydrocarbons economy expected to rise by 10 percent by 2016 and GDP remaining above 12 percent for the past 5 years, the real estate sector is set to emerge as a prominent area for investment in the coming years with consistent contributions to the country’s economic growth. 

The only event dedicated to Qatari real estate, bringing together international and regional real estate investors, developers, financiers and public sector bodies, the Summit will host talks on the biggest challenges of the Qatar real estate market including; Qatar’s strategies to rise to its planned growth challenges and a comprehensive review and update on the QConstruct conflict resolution scheme.

Over the two days, the Qatar Real Estate Summit will provide delegates with a well-rounded analysis of Qatar’s financial and real estate markets, including the economic outlook, government priorities, upcoming projects and major opportunities.  The Summit will host over 150 local and international senior investors and real estate developers and keynote speakers including Eng. Abdulla Al Subaie, Board Member and Group CEO, Barwa Real estate and Managing Director of Qatar Rail, Dr. Bassim Halaby, Executive Management, Al Wa’ab City and CEO, Benchmark International, Jochen Schaefer-Suren, Partner Head of Hotels & Leisure, Internos Global Investors, Robert Musgrove, CEO, Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre.

On the final day, a focused post-summit Retail Masterclass will be offered capitalizing on the booming retail and mall development trend; this half day class will provide mall developers, operators and investors with the knowledge they need to gain a competitive edge as well as understanding what is the best mall development format for the Qatari market, how to secure the best locations and tips to building mall loyalty and maximize revenues through the F&B space mix.
